I was fresh out of graduate school and AmeriCorps service, and hit the ground running in the search for full time work. My outcomes?

200 applications

5 interviews

100% rejection rate

The experience led to the development of an intense job application phobia. I feared sending resumes. I would dread redrafting yet another cover letter. For a year, just the thought of applying caused my body to tense. I was anxious, frustrated, and angry before the process even began.

The rejection had brought on feelings of inadequacy and self doubt. I asked myself…

What don’t employers see in me?    Why don’t I stand out?

Fortunately, one of my friends referred me to a woman of color career coach. Right away, she highlighted my strengths, encouraged me to refocus my goals and helped me create a professional brand.

With a brand new resume and renewed inspiration, I made the bold step to move from Chicago to Boston  to embark on a reflective journey that brought me to the epicenter of my own passions —  career counseling.

I have now spent several years counseling students in various settings of higher learning. My experience ranges from supporting a 20 year old hone their interests to assisting a 66 year old transition to their second career.

I have guided hundreds on their career path. I have revamped countless resumes. From mock interviews to salary negotiations, I have coached the broad range of diverse career seekers. I cannot wait to implore my expertise, experiences, and holistic approach to your career journey.
